Sadly, Thad lost his battle with colon cancer on Sunday afternoon, May 27th. He passed peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his wife and family. Thad was well-known as a hard worker, a person of high integrity and most importantly a loving husband, father, son and brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Lang Fender and his children Jasmine, Jade and Jesse. We are deeply saddened by Thad’s departure as he was such a great man. Thad always looked to serve others first before himself and there are many people who have benefitted from his kindness and generosity over the years. Thad was also known for his creative side, as his siblings, Melanie, Todd and Toby recall him obsessing over cars and design even as a young child. Everyone knew Thad loved German-made vehicles, in particular, Porsches and VW’s. That love also translated into being the go-to mechanic for his family and friends, which Thad happily offered, never asking for compensation for his services. Although Thad loved cars, there was no match for the love he had for his wife and three children. Thad often worked multiple jobs to provide for his family and give them the life he dreamed for them, never once thinking of himself. These are just a few examples of how Thad lived his life and we were all truly blessed to have been a part of it.
As Thad had many friends from work, school and his car friends, the family would love to hear your stories or thoughts on the Tribute Wall if you have some time.
Thad is leaving behind a young family and they will not only struggle with the emotional loss, but the financial loss of his income, medical bills and funeral costs will be a large burden on his family. Lang’s sister has started a GoFundMe page to help with these expenses. If you would like to donate in lieu of flowers, It would be greatly appreciated.
