Robert P. Calvert, husband of Kathryn Calvert died peacefully on July 13, 2018 surrounded by his family.
He was born August 9, 1938 to Robert and Marion Calvert in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from Lexington High School and served in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Homestead Air Force base in south Florida. He debriefed General Curtis Lemay upon his delivery of the first B52 bomber to Homestead Air Force Base in 1962 in preparation for the Cuban Missile Crisis.
While in Homestead he met his wife of 56 years, Kathryn. They have 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He went on to work for Pitney Bowes for 32 years and retired in 1993.
He is remembered for his love of family, strong faith, sense of humor, and quick wit. He enjoyed family vacations, camping, fishing, and going to Estes Park for Irish/Scottish Festivals. He enjoyed cheering on his children and grandchildren in all their athletic events. His love of the Dodge Dart was unparalleled. It was the first car for all of his children!
He is survived by his wife Kathryn, daughter and son in law Suzanne and Rick Leytham, son Robert Calvert Jr., daughter and son in law Janet and Jeff Coldwell, son and daughter in law Kevin and Rosemary Calvert, daughter and son in law Carol and Bryan Mason. Grandchildren Katie, Daniel, Christopher, Anessa, Shannon, ShelbyAnn, Sophia, Sarah, Derek, Megan and Matthew. Great grandchildren Jaycob, Ellie, Kaitlynn, and Benjamin. His brother Richard Calvert and sister Carol Palmer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Brian Calvert, sister Joan Siekman, brother Thomas Calvert, and grandson Lee Calvert.
