Natividad (Nattie) Mata was re-united with her loved ones who had gone before her on
June 16, 2019 at the Life Care Center in Longmont, CO. She was born on September 9, 1925 in Walsenburg, CO to Carlos Cordova and Gertrude Cordova and grew up with several siblings.
She married Lawrence Mata in 1941 and they would share fifty-two years together and raise seven children, Edward Mata (deceased), Terri (Joe) Garcia of Longmont, CO, Rose Mata of Denver CO, Larry Mata of Denver, CO, Patty Martinez (deceased), Steven Mata (Deana) of Norman, OK, and Tony Mata (Brenda) of Thornton, CO.
She raised her children in Lafayette, CO and was a dedicated member of the Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church in Lafayette. Nattie later lived in Broomfield, CO at the Maryel Manor apartments for several years. In 2008 she moved to Longmont, CO where she lived until
her passing at Life Care Center in Longmont, CO. Her entire life was spent caring for her children and enjoying time with her grandchildren, baking endless cookies and cooking for family functions and holidays.
A rosary will be said on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 6:00 P.M at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home, 503 Terry St., in Longmont, CO. A mass will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 11:00 A.M.
at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 323 Collyer St., Longmont, CO. Enternment will be at
Ft. Logan National Cemetary, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, CO at 1:00 P.M. A reception in celebration of Nattie's life will be held at 4:00 P.M at the Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home.
