Kent Richard Rieske, 79, passed away on December 10, 2018, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on March 27, 1939, to Max and Hortense Rieske in Provo, Utah. Kent graduated from Brigham Young University in 1962 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and went to work for Hercules Powder Company, where he met his wife of 53 years, Marti. The highlight of Kent’s career was the launch of his own business, Professional Designers and Engineers, Inc., in 1985. He developed PRO-BELT, an industry standard software program for designing belt conveyor and belt feeder systems, as well as PIPE-PRO software for piping systems design and fluid flow analysis. Kent also created Bible Life Ministries, an online Christian website to spread the Gospel and proclaim the love of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In addition, he wrote three books: Absolute Truth Exposed, Reversing Heart Disease and Preventing Diabetes, and Big Bang Theory.
Kent is survived by his wife Marti; his two children, Matthew Rieske and Michelle Dorsett; and his two grandchildren, Andrew and Shelby Dorsett, as well as his sister, Loretta McClure. Kent loved and enjoyed spending time with his family; and as an outdoorsman, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking.
Kent is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Myrleen Kelly.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel, 503 Terry Street, Longmont, CO 80501. Entombment will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont.
