George Edward Stortz passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the TRU Hospice Care Center in Longmont.
George was born in Chicago, IL on December 17, 1942, to Edward and Suzanne (Kozik) Stortz.
While attending the Illinois Institute of Technology, he met and married Linda Lawrence.
In their twenty-year marriage, they became the parents of two sons.
In 1963 George started employment with the Xerox Corporation in Chicago and transferred to Greeley, Colorado, in 1971.
After retiring from Xerox in 1984, he opened CopyIt! Printing in the Arrow Plaza in Longmont.
He married Suzanne Dillingham in 1988 and they have resided in Longmont since their marriage.
George had many interests throughout his life including tropical fish, scuba diving, underwater photography,stain glass, oil painting, coordinating road rallies and repairing vintage radios. He was a member of the Top of the Rockies Corvette Association and the Denver Hearse Club. He was a founding member of the “Geezers”, a breakfast group of retired Corvette Drivers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Geoffrey.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, his son, Philip; and a brother, Jan (Patricia) Stortz.
A memorial service will be held when it’s “top-down” Corvette weather.
