Edgar (Gordo) Lechuga, age 17, passed away from a car accident on Friday, July 20, 2018, in Redstone, Colorado. He was born on July 26, 2000, in Brighton, Colorado and resided in Longmont, Colorado.
Gordo was a recent graduate of Skyline High School and obtained a CDC automotive class certificate to continue his passion for working on cars. He had a giving and loving heart for animals, especially dogs, and was fundraising for his birthday to support the Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary. Among the many joys in his life were fishing, hanging out with family and friends, and swimming. Wherever he was, Gordo brought laughter and life to others through his jokes, his fresh dance moves and charisma. His friendliness and kindness to all, and his devotion and love for animals is a tribute to the beauty of his heart and soul. His inspiring presence will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege to know him.
Gordo is survived by his father, Edgar Lechuga; mother, Maria Montes; brothers, Andres and Cervando Montes; sister, Leslie Lechuga; and many other loving family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2018, at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral & Cremation Services, 503 Terry St., Longmont, Colorado. This will be followed by a burial service at Foothills Gardens of Memory at 14241 N. 107th St., Longmont, Colorado.
