David Brian Prentice died peacefully at home on Monday, February 18, 2019. He was born in Fishkill, N.Y. on August 31, 1962, to James and Dorothy (Figurski) Prentice and was the youngest of 4 children. Left to remember David are his mother Dorothy; brother Joseph Prentice; sister Patricia Rotter and her daughters Holly and Samantha; brother Kevin Prentice and his children Heather Prentice her husband David Giordani and their daughter Emerson; Mathew and Michelle Prentice and their sons Theodore and Thomas; Kristina Prentice; and Kevin’s partner, Monique Allard and her daughters Erika and Lizzy. David was also loved by 14 aunts and uncles (and their spouses), 33 first cousins, and many other family too numerous to count. In 2018, David was “adopted” by his beautiful caregivers, Debbie and Scott Wedekind and their family and other “adopted son”, Kenny Romero. David’s third “family’” was the wonderful people at Imagine and Community Link.

David brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. David was a Special Needs gentleman, but that never stopped him from developing great friendships, and working at various jobs (his favorite being at Taco Bell). David’s favorite things included joking with his brothers, uncles, and cousins, watching the Broncos and Rockies, semi trucks, cowboys, horses, Harley Davidsons, and his dog buddies (Bubba, Rascal, Emma, and Luna). David’s cousins gave him the moniker of Big Bad Biker Dave, aka TripleBD.

David was preceded in death by his father Jim; brother-in-law Kurt; grandparents Stanley and Helen Figurski and John and Jean Prentice; Great Aunt Madge and Uncle John Craig; and many aunts and uncles – most recently his beloved Uncle Donald who left for heaven just in time to help welcome David home.

A mass for David will be held at 10 a.m. at St Francis Assisi church in Longmont, followed by an 11:45 a.m. reception at Caroll-LLewlyn Funeral Home. Please join the family in honoring TripleBD by wearing your favorite Broncos gear on Saturday.
