He was a huge fan of the Chelsea(London) soccer team, and a lifelong Nebraska Cornhusker fan.
He married Jennifer Bartunek in 1988 in Juniata, Nebraska. They recently celebrated their 30th Anniversary. They had two children together, Karl of Longmont, Colorado, and Isabelle of Anaheim, California. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Johnson, of Hastings, Nebraska, brother Laverne, of Port Neches, Texas, and brother Roger, of Hastings, Nebraska.
