Dale Eugene Gruber
Born to August and Grace Gruber on July 8th, 1926 in Osceola Iowa. Dale grew up in Ottumwa Iowa and graduated from Ottumwa High in 1944.
Dale served in the U.S. Army from December 1944 until being honorably discharged September of 1946.
Upon returning home Dale worked as a machinist at the John Deere Company in Ottumwa.
He married Ruby Lee Butler at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa on November 29, 1947.
Dale worked as a tool and mold maker and retired from The Ball Corporation in 1991.
He moved to Longmont Colorado in 1968 where he loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a longtime member of the NRA and the Boulder Rifle Club.
Dale is survived by his Sons- Jerry L. Gruber and Mary Ann, Larry J. Gruber; Grandchildren--Alan and Jennifer L. (Gruber) Tanaka, Carson D. Gruber, Tommy F. Gilbert, Shanti M. Gruber, Craig and Sheena A. (Gruber) Patterson; Sister-in-laws--Frances Gruber, Madeline Joseph, Mary Todd.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel. Military honors will be performed by American Legion Post 32 of Longmont.
