It is with great sadness the family of Brian Allen Poe, announce his sudden passing on Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the mountains he loved. He was 63. He was born July 19, 1954 in Longmont, CO. He grew up in Lyons, CO where he later worked hard as an electrician for 30 years before taking on a few other jobs. He married his wife, Eleanor “Elly” Poe, on May 26th, 1979. They resided in Berthoud for many years before moving to Loveland in 2010. Brian was a devoted man who had many joys and hobbies over the years. At a young age he enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball and football. Most recently he enjoyed camping, fishing, his golden retriever, Molly, and family time. His one true passion was always family. He loved to host and cook for them. He made green chili that was award winning among his kids. He was kind and loving always giving to those around him.
Brian loved the mountains and often said that is where he was with God. It is no wonder that is where he took God’s hand when he heard His call.
His spirit is carried on by his wife, Elly; his sister, Terri Watson; his 7 children: William Poe (Nicole), Angela Poe (Shawnalea), Bradley Poe (Alesha), Cynthia Kane (Justin), Christine Allison (Brett), Katie Beberniss (Bryan), Brittney Yarberry (Matt); his 10 grandchildren with two more granddaughters on the way and many nieces and nephews.
He is reunited with his parents Elbert and Jacquelyne Poe, his sisters Robin Poe and Connie Roe. Brian is most likely rocking his grandson, Ozzie, and grandbabies (unnamed) in his loving arms while listening to the angels sing.
We loved him a lot, but God loved him more. We are ever so thankful for his 63 years of life.
A Celebration of Life will take place on July 14th, 2018 at House of Neighborly Services.1511 E. 11th Street, Loveland, CO at 4 pm. He will then be laid to rest in The Lyons Cemetery.
