Vernon Lester Fiebig, 94 of Longmont, CO peacefully passed away June 5, 2021.
He was born in St. Louis, MO, July 2, 1926 to Fred Fiebig and Rose Mais.
Vernon graduated from Fairview HS, Jennings, MO then perused 1 year of education in the MO School of Mines before following his calling to join the war effort during WWII. Vernon served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1947, continuing his service as a US Naval Reserve from 1955 to 1959.
Vernon met the love of his life Helen Bennett and married her in 1955. He went on to a career as an Aviation Engineer and Boilermaker for ACME Boiler & Tank Co. and later for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Co. (now Boeing), before retiring after 30 years.
Vernon resided in St. Louis County, MO; Cuba, MO; before settling in Longmont, CO
Some of Vernon’s favorite hobbies include wood working and gardening. If you were to describe Vernon in three words it would be integrity, service, and hardworking. As a Christian he attended
the Florissant Valley Baptist Church in Florissant, MO; Life Bridge Christian Church in
Longmont, CO; and Hover Chapel services with Rocky Mountain Bible Baptist Church in Longmont, CO
Vernon is survived by daughter Sally Haun spouse Larry Haun of Burleson, TX; son Gregory Fiebig spouse Marilyn Fiebig of Marion, IN; son Kieth Fiebig spouse Lisa Fiebig of Longmont, CO. Grandchildren: Tristan Haun, Mallory Haun, Ian Haun, Barett Haun of TX; Jeremy Fiebig of NC, Jessica Akers of IN, Jeffrey Fiebig of IA, Emily Fiebig and Caleb Fiebig of Longmont, CO. and 7 Great grandchildren
He is predeceased by Helen Fiebig, deceased 1984 and Carol Hoboy, sister deceased 2014.
No formal services to be held. An Ice Cream social being planned with family friends.
Vernon will be laid to rest in Fort Logan National Military cemetery, Denver, CO
